Our Mission
Women That Build exists to highlight the voices, stories, and leadership of women shaping New York City’s construction and built environment industries. The work of these women is everywhere around us — in the buildings we enter, the infrastructure we rely on, and the teams that bring the city to life — yet their perspectives are often overlooked.
Why This Podcast Exists
We created Women That Build to change that.
This podcast was founded to:
- Amplify the stories of women across trades, engineering, architecture, design, public agencies, and community organizations
- Showcase leadership and impact in an industry where women continue to push boundaries
- Provide practical insights, mentorship moments, and honest conversations for anyone building a career in the field
- Build community through shared experiences, challenges, and successes
- Increase visibility for the professionals shaping the future of NYC
Women That Build is more than a podcast — it’s a platform for representation, inspiration, and real stories from the women who help build the city every day.
